2021 MBA Talent Show Brings the Sun to HEC Paris

The MCs at the HEC Paris MBA Talent ShowThe annual HEC Paris MBA Talent Show is many things— an astonishing display of talents, a going-away party for our September students, a way of roasting the school for its “almost Paris” location—but more than anything, it’s incredibly fun.

This year’s show, entitled “Here Comes the Sun,” lit up Blondeau Auditorium with 17 live performances.

The crowd, made up of MBA students, staff, and their families, was already on its feet when Shang Zhu, MBA ’22, called out “why are you still sitting?” during his electrifying performance of Sex Bomb. And everyone—including the actors!—was wondering who Martha was during the Theater of the Absurd’s eccentric performance. The audience was transported to the most beautiful landscapes of Italy when Samuel Deason, MBA ’22, a prizewinning concert pianist, played Notturno by Italian composer Ottorino Respighi.

Despite its long history within the MBA program, there were also several “firsts” at the November 19 show. One was the sentimental song that Brian Pekron, MBA ’23, composed and sang for the first time ever to his fiancé, Alex. There was also the fact that three MBA staff members—David, Julio and Monique—joined the students in putting their skills on display.

But don’t take our word for it. Watch the entire 2021 MBA Talent Show here:

A big shout-out to the MBA students who organized the event: Ayse Akcali, Yash Kaushal, Tamar Forman-Gejrot, Sneha Mahendra Zawal, and Saumya Kansal.
