HEC Paris MBA Ranked #1 in Europe, #4 in World by QS

The HEC Paris MBA is delighted to announce that it has been named the top MBA program in Europe and #4 program worldwide in the 2022 QS Global MBA Rankings.

For these latest rankings, QS analyzed 286 MBA programs across 45 countries. Out of a total of 100 possible points, the HEC Paris MBA scored 91.8 overall, leading to its top-tier placement among business schools.

“We are very pleased by the QS results, which show our commitment to shaping tomorrow’s leaders,” says Andrea Masini, Associate Dean, MBA Programs. “We pride ourselves in helping students gain the leadership skills that will allow them to make a positive impact on the world. Graduates from HEC Paris are well-equipped to address global challenges.”

The QS survey places the HEC Paris MBA firmly in the top 1% of both global and European business schools.

Key Categories in the Ranking

The HEC Paris MBA topped the chart for its Return on Investment, earning a perfect 100-point score in this category. To compute an MBA program’s ROI, QS takes into account tuition costs, course length and the average pre-program salaries of students. The survey weighs those findings against post-program salaries and annual bonuses, as well as alumni’s cumulative 10-year earnings.

Employability is another category in which the HEC Paris MBA stood out. The survey graded the HEC Paris MBA 95.8 out of 100 points, leading to its placement as one of the world’s best MBA programs. To calculate this score, QS asked leading employers—companies such as McKinsey, Google, Siemens and Airbus, among many others–from which schools they prefer to hire MBAs and other graduates. This year, more than 53,000 employers responded to this section of the QS survey.

In the Thought Leadership category, the HEC Paris MBA also displayed its strength, earning an overall score of 96.8 out of 100 points. More than 42,000 academics were surveyed for this part of the questionnaire. Each was asked to nominate specific universities and business schools that conduct cutting-edge research.

An On-Going Trend

The 2022 QS Global MBA Rankings is just one of many recently released surveys which place the HEC Paris MBA firmly among the world’s best MBA programs. For example, the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking 2021 named the HEC Paris MBA #7 worldwide, up from #9 in 2020. That ranking came on the heels of The Economist’s WhichMBA? 2021 Full-Time Ranking. The Economist placed the MBA at #2 globally, one spot higher than the program’s placement in 2020.
