Despite the pandemic, it’s been an outstanding year for private equity and venture capital. US investors alone poured the equivalent of $428 million every single day of 2020 into startups. That’s on top of what is currently estimated to be $4.5 trillion worth of assets managed worldwide by private equity firms.
But lacking a crystal ball, it’s hard to predict the future of investing. Much less envision the best way to shape a career in these sectors. Which is why, in March 2020, the HEC Paris MBA’s Private Equity/Venture Capital Club launched a podcast featuring one-to-one conversations with investment professionals.
“Given the exclusivity and small size of companies and funds in the investing space, this podcast aims to keep people up-to-date on what’s important to investment managers,” explains Club Board Member Stephanie Kratschmer, MBA ’22. “Listeners will hear about different career paths and gain a deep level of insights coming straight from the experts.”
Each episode features original content generated exclusively by the MBA’s PE/VC Club. New episodes are released regularly, moderated by club board members.
The club’s first two interviews – with many more to come! — feature Mirko Scherer, ex-biotech entrepreneur turned venture capitalist, and Pedja Predin, VC at South Central Ventures.
