A decision can change your life completely. I honestly believe that every person who comes into your life has something to teach you.
When I decided to join a Summer School program, I was looking for a place to enrich myself in an academic way but also in a cultural way.
And this is when I discovered HEC. Something amazing about the HEC Summer School experience, beside the incredible academic level, is that you
get to know many people from all around the world, people who have different stories to tell and different ways of being; and HEC is the center where all those cultures join together.
Experience in campus
The first day I arrived to campus was amazing, it was so big but so cozy at the same time thanks to everyone being so welcoming and nice. After meeting our teachers, we had a “meet and greet” which has been the perfect time to make friends with students from other summer programs. Later that day we went to the pizzeria in front of the campus to eat some slides obviously, but the most important part was getting to know each other’s background and from where they came from.
Starting this evening and over, the next two weeks I got to speak English, French and Spanish! And it was fun! Sometimes, we would start a conversation in one language and we would finish it in another without even being aware of it.
Later that first night and the nights that followed, we went to the Wunder bar, which was the perfect place to meet new people, play some games and listen to good music. We knew that every night was designated to the Wunder bar so we could have fun!
The lake was another amazing experience. We were able to organize some picnics and buy a baguette, wine and cheese, as French people do. Even though it is a little bit far from the dorms, it is totally worth it! It’s such a peaceful place.
Crazy Weekend in Paris
We had the opportunity to be there on July 14th, the national day of France. This day we visited Paris and got to see the most representative places of this iconic city. At the end of the afternoon, we had a picnic near the Eiffel Tower and prepared to watch the fireworks. We sat down, enjoyed the picnic and waited for the fireworks in the Eiffel Tower. We had so much fun! It was a night that I will always remember!
On Sunday, we took the bus, which is used by the HEC students and we went to Versailles to enjoy the Soccer World Cup
final where France won! This was another amazing moment. There were crazy people everywhere! It was incredible to see people in their cars screaming and waving their flags, people dancing in the streets, singing, jumping.
People really got crazy!
Marketing for the era of digital transformation
I took the Marketing for the era of digital transformation program since I am studying my bachelor in Corporative communication at the Universidad Privada Boliviana in La Paz-Bolivia.
This program really helped me to learn to use digital tools in a dynamic way and to understand better how the digital era is growing and working in our days. Through a case study, it also helped me to understand how enterprises can work with digital resources. Moreover, how important it is to know how use those technological resources properly and correctly to make a business grow.
In the end, I had everything I was looking for. I leave a piece of my heart in HEC and with all the friends I have made there. These are the kind of experiences that you never forget or change for anything.
Now, I have more knowledge and new friends from all over the world. I know that someday we will meet each other again and remember that thanks to HEC we are friends, we will for sure remember every memory we made there.
I want to give special thanks to:
- Jerome Fontayne
- Elyse Michaels-Berger
- Vincent Fratoit
- My Durum team (They know who they are)
- My family
For making this experience the best I ever had!
