Bloomberg was the first place to visit for day 2. There, several employees from different divisions met us with a presentation which left me strongly considering Bloomberg as a good alternative to investment banks.
The environment at Canary Wharf, where most global banks are located, was very impressive. I found it hard to get my head around the huge amount of people who work there and the complex systems that keep this financial centre running smoothly day in day out. I really enjoyed the visit to HSBC. It was divided into three different parts: presentation, M&A Case study and networking lunch. Every part was very useful, and this is one of the aspects which really brings home to me how the Study Trip truly is one of the key advantages of the MIF programme.
