7th Global Social Business Summit this week in Berlin with HEC Paris

GSBS_2015The GSBS is the worldwide leading forum for social business, non-loss, non-dividend companies with a social goal. It serves to spread awareness about social business, foster discussion and collaboration between practitioners and stakeholders, as well as present and conceive best practices.
The annual event is organized by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus and his Creative Advisor Hans Reitz, and gathers experts from the private sector, civil society, governments and academia over a few days of meetings, forums and workshops.

Organized alongside the Global Social Business Summit 2015, the Academia conference aims at stimulating discussion among academics and researchers working in the field of Social Business and its related areas. The goal is to foster the creation of an interdisciplinary and international academic and research community around this topic of growing international significance, as well as the enhancing capacity, quality and recognition of research in Social Business.

Affiliate Professor Bénédicte Faivre-Tavignot and Professor Frédéric Dalsace are familiar with the GSBS Academia Conference. This year, they will intervene on “Entrepreneurship and Social Business” and “Education and Social Business”.
Chair of the Academic Program Development Committee, Prof. Faivre-Tavignot will also be moderating a panel discussion on Social Business Teaching Formats & Future Perspectives with Prof. Andreas Heinecke (EBS Business School), Prof. Robert Johnson (Becker College), Prof. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (University of Dhaka) and Prof. Gerhard Fischer (University of Colorado at Boulder)

One of the highlights of the 7th GSBS is the presentation of the Action Tank Entreprise et Pauvreté at the first plenary session on November 5.

The keynote speech will be made by its two co-presidents, Martin Hirsch, former High Commissioner for Active Solidarity Against Poverty in France, and currently Head of the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (Paris Public Hospitals Administration) and Emmanuel Faber, CEO of Danone.

A round table will follow animated by Leonhard Nima from the Grameen Creative Lab, including Frédéric Dalsace, holder of the Social Business / Enterprise and Poverty Chair and Bénédicte Faivre-Tavignot, its executive director.

Created in 2010 upon the initiative of the Social Business / Enterprise and Poverty Chair, the Action Tank is a non-for-profit association that aims at implementing and developing innovative and sustainable business models in order to alleviate poverty and social exclusion in France. Through the Action Tank, a number of leading multinationals have joined forces with NGOs and government organizations to experiment with developing social businesses in France.

The Action Tank Entreprise et Pauvreté has already inspired and supported the launch of Action Tank Portugal in 2011 dedicated to inclusive and social business.
